Indian borage / Mexican mint

Beneficial for respiratory issues - sinusitis, sore throat and general congestion.

  1. It contains compounds that are helpful in reducing mucous and phlegm.

  2. It is also high in Vitamin C - beneficial for the immune system, and Vitamin A which is nourishing for the mucous membranes.

  3. It is a diuretic and aids kidney function and the lymphatic system therefore supporting lymphatic drainage.

  4. Indian borage can also help in getting rid of intestinal worms.

How to Use at Home:

  1. Can be taken as a tea, you can chew the leaves or you can crush the fresh leaves.

  2. Worms: Make a tea, or drink 10ml of juice given in hot water, 1 x day.

  3. Respiratory Problems: Tea or 5-6 ml juice of crushed leaves or tea can mixed with a little honey and taken to relieve coughs, sinusitis or a stuffy nose, reduce phlegm and mucous

  4. Fever: Take 2 tablespoons of the juice or drink the tea 2 x day. It works as a diaphoretic - helps you sweat.

  5. Digestion: It can also be used as a digestive aid as it reduces gut inflammation.
