However it’s mucilaginous content make it a wonderful soothing and healing aid for cough relief and as a sore throat soother. Not only that but it’s great for gum irritations, mouth ulcers & dry mouth (due to conditions such as Sjorgrens Syndrome). Marshmallow leaves support treatment of the lungs (bronchitis & asthma) and urinary system. Made into a paste with some coconut oil it heals skin wounds and can draw out splinters and stings. To Brew: To make Marshmallow Tea – infuse 1-2 teaspoons of dried marshmallow root with 1 cup of boiling water, cover and strain after 10 minutes. Add some honey to taste if desired.
